It’s a Sloppy Joe with a Jamaican Jerk Kick!

This recipe uses the following Rasta Bros. products:
     Jamaican Jerk BBQ Sauce
     Caribbean Heat Dipping Sauce & Glaze
     Rasta Hot Sauce (Optional)

  • 1 -1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup chopped bell pepper*
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup Rasta Bros. Jamaican Jerk BBQ Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Rasta Bros. Caribbean Heat Dipping Sauce & Glaze
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 3 Tbs. tomato paste
  • Salt & Pepper to Taste

*We like to Rasta-tize it with colorful bell peppers.
“Green for the Earth – Gold for the Sun – Red for the Blood”

Directions:

  1. Place ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until meat is evenly browned, stirring often to crumble.  Drain well.
  2. Add chopped onion and bell peppers.  Cover and cook until onion is tender, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.  Simmer over low heat, stirring frequently,  for about 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.  Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon the hot beef mixture over buns and dig in.

*For an even bigger Jamaican Jerk kick… add a couple splashes of Rasta Bros. Rasta Hot Sauce.
